Cherished Beyond Measure

"I put my heart and my soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." -Vincent Van Gogh
One of the seemingly easy subjects an artist can begin to work on can actually turn into one of the hardest. If you've done it before, you probably already know what I'm talking about...
Yup...the familiar face.
And I find the more I have seen the face, especially over the years, the harder it is to be satisfied with my painting. It will plum wear you out and frustrate you to your core because you KNOW what that face looks like, and it just isn't turning up in the portrait.
These are the paintings that usually take me the longest, frustrate me the most, and end up having more renditions scraped that saved.
If you're in a painting like this, I feel your pain, but want to know the silver lining?
When you finally agree that you're done working on the painting, it is usually one that is cherished beyond measure.
Hand-painted in Adobe Photoshop CC using the Wacom Intuos Pro and the Wacom Art Pen.
